I just came back from Mountain Equipment Co-op, aka "The Co-op". The 'co-op' aspect of this store is that you pay a one time $5.00 membership fee and then you just have to whip out your number (in my case in my Outlook address book, hence my Crackberry) and you can get yourself all manner of... holy smokes over priced... outdoor gear. Why so expensive? Probably because everything is made in Canada, this so totally begs for an angry rant that I will instead discuss my skating routine for the day.
I skated at Scooters today. What a workout! Aaron Arndt (see the blog roll on the right) really made us work, although apparently the Sunday morning skate is actually pretty light. Well my knees are in eight or nine different kinds of pain. Now it is the 'good' pain mind you but it still really really hurts. How on Earth do people do Scooters three times a week? Someone has to explain that one to me. (I am also reasonably confident that tomorrow night I will 1. make a fool of myself or 2. crash, or very possibly both.)
It probably doesn't help my poor innocent knees that after skating Aaron lead a really well run dry land session. If my ability to cross over isn't a million times better by spring I will be very surprised. (Double-A better look out I suppose there will be an angry rant in April on that subject... not really!)
Anyway on the advice of Peter Doucet (see Speed Skate World, on the right) there was an article that established the value of Chocolate Milk. For all you TISCrs Lowblaws has a sale on, Neilson "The Ultimate Chocolate Milk" in packs of six 500mL bottles goes for $6.00, $1.50 off the regular price, but not for very long. Another rant I will stear clear of, why is there GST on Chocolate Milk at a supermarket, but no GST on Chocolate Cake at the same supermarket? Or my favorite, apparently Toilet Paper (has GST) is not necessity of life? If I'm not supposed to use toilet paper what should I use? (Maybe I should not have written that, I'm getting some nasty images in my head... some involve news print some involve bear hands... hey if it were the editorials of the Globe and Mail... I'd want to wash my rear end out really carefully!)
After skating I drove Kevin, see "Finding the dream..." blog at right, to my place. We were just goofing off when I showed him the Bont disscussion on the 2007 Vaypors. Take a close look at rollers77 post 17 entries down the page. Don't count, or read from the bottom up, its very important that you read from the top down. When you are done, read on... (go ahead read it now then come back to my Blog).
Tell me that isn't just the oddest thing. I have no idea who Rollers77 is, Kevin and I suspect its (he? she?) an American who reads Peter's blog. Peter posted a link on September 28 to Georg's pictures from the September 27 TISC practice, among those pictures are my harry legs, with skates... isn't that just the strangest thing? I'm still surprised about the whole thing over a month after it happened.
The worst thing about the end of day light savings, its not yet 5:30 in the evening and its so dark. I want to cry - how can I trail skate when it's this dark this early? Maybe I should move closer to the equator?
Anyway I should probably close here, lots to do and not nearly enough time to get it done and get back to my reading of Fast Food Nation. Some people have complained to me that my blog is basically a bunch of rants on random subjects, well FFN is one long well researched rant... that's actually rather frightful.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale...I usually keep a case in my car but now that winter's almost here, perhaps I should consider other places otherwise I would end up with chocolate milk popsicles
I've actually read fast food nation for an essay a few years back...kind of an eye opener, but at the same time, not that surprising if you've been working in the food industry.
